Students from Sylvesters College to hold 2012 Olympic torch


Two Sri Lankan (Sylvestrians) students have received a novel opportunity to not only witness but to also hold the 2012 Olympic torch which is currently travelling across United Kingdom.



The two (Sylvestrians) students will be leaving the country for England today for this purpose.

An international Youth Sports Festival will be held in Durham when the torch relay of the 2012 London Olympics arrives in the English county. 

Isuru Dilshan and Mohommad Assardeen from St. Sylvester College in Kandy have been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the sports festival.

They will  be participating in the 100m, 200m and 400 m events at the festival. 

The lucky youngsters will have the chance to hold the Olympic torch when it arrives in Durham.
